In the hot, sun-drenched environment of Exmouth, where the intense heat can make sheltered spaces a necessity, this project focuses on creating areas that offer relief from the sun while allowing a refreshing breeze to flow through. At the same time, the site is surrounded by neighbours, making the need for privacy a key consideration. The design achieves this balance through three distinct layers, each more dense than the one before, allowing users to control the amount of light and visibility they wish to invite into their space. The result is a home that feels as comfortable outdoors as it does inside, with an intermediary layer that gently transitions between the external environment and the private, sheltered interior.
